Diwali, Rangoli and Carrots!

This week we have been busy, learning about the 'Diwali' Festival ( which falls on the 5th November) and translates to 'Festival of Lights'. We made clay tealight holders, paper lanterns and Diwali cards.

In Breakfast Club the children made a Bonfire Display Board. We looked at 'Rangoli' patterns and enjoyed colouring them in. We harvested our carrots and tasted them at snack time.

William Our African Land Snail And Babies

William has laid more eggs, so far we have around 100, with the previous batch having hatched, we now have lots of baby snails wanting homes, contact us if you wish to adopt (donations gratefully received)

A Busy Week At Mrs B's

Some of our frogs have started on their big adventure to find new homes. We have put them at the bottom of Mrs B's garden so they can hop safely away.

Our craft theme this week was 'Junk Modelling' and we made boats, houses, trains and crocodiles. We also enjoyed doing bubble painting.

We have been playing on our computer - we like our build a house game and painting.

The children who are leaving for 'big school' went to the party at Mrs B's - West Malling, where they enjoyed party food and games.

We have been busy at Mrs B's

Over the last few weeks we have been very busy making Father's Day cards and spiral mobiles at the craft table.

Our herbs and vegetables have now grown very big and need lots of watering. The children enjoy smelling the herbs.

One of our favourite activities is digging for dinosaurs in the big sand pit.

Some of our tadpoles have turned into baby frogs. At the last count we have 18 baby frogs swimming and hopping about, we check every day to see how many we have!

Planting Herbs and Vegetables at Mrs B's

This week the children planted a herb garden with Mint, Thyme, Parsley and Rosemary. They all had a turn at digging, planting and watering and talked about how we care for the plants.

Next week we are planning to sow vegetable seeds including, lettuce, radish and beans, we will learn about how they grow from a seed and how we care for them, as we watch them grow.
